It´s not a secret that the human being is a problem for the Earth. Whether we like it or not, we are the only ones responsible for global warming, the massive extinction of species, the pollution of the seas and many other natural catastrophes that our planet is currently suffering.
At Junglemat we are very aware of the need to reduce our impact, so we are constantly working to make our products as sustainable as possible. We also understand that our products must be fully functional and cover all the needs that a yogi can have during his daily practice. We also try that our mats have an attractive and modern style. That is why our goal has always been to combine quality, functionality and design without forgetting the respect for our world.
All our mats are made with natural and biodegradable materials. Instead of PVC we use 100% natural rubber for the base of all our mats. The rubber comes from sustainable forests. In this way we avoid the deforestation of forests and the loss of fauna that leads to the creation of new plantations to obtain rubber. In addition, the use of natural rubber, instead of petroleum-based synthetic rubber, acts against climate change thanks to the increase of tree plantations and the reduction of the use of fossil fuels.
Regarding the dyes, they are all water-based, which causes their degradation to not pollute the seas. Neither polluting materials such as silicone, toxic glues or phthalates are used. On the other hand, the inks are dried in seconds using UV light, which implies a very limited use of energy and avoids the use of solvents harmful to nature.
As regards both the cork mats and the blocks, they are also made with 100% natural materials. The pressed cork that we use for all our products comes from plantations that are also sustainable, thus achieving the same benefits as rubber.
The Junglemat mats have a much longer shelf life than most traditional yoga mats, which reduces the amount of waste generated by throwaway products.
All these characteristics make our mats totally ecological and recyclable, helping to reduce the ecological impact on our precious planet.
Yoga goes through an endless path but the route is magical. Enjoy the process and if you liked this article we encourage you to share it in your social networks and leave us a comment.
